As owner and head guide of Reel Job Fishing I’ll personally be booking most of the guided trips. However, when I’m unavailable during the busy season I can assure you my guide staff will provide you with the same professional level of guiding that you’ve grown accustom to receiving. - Capt. I’m a very serious angler, and I don’t accept defeat easily. I fish
hard and try to learn something new each time I’m on the water. The
pursue and hunt never gets old to me and each fish that’s tricked with
the proper fly choice and presentation strengthens my feeling that
being a guide is what I was put on this planet to do. You’ll not find
me yelling or embarrassing my clients. Instead you’ll see me giving
positive, constructive criticism designed to make my clients better
anglers; that’s my goal everyday.
My Grandfather introduced me to fly fishing at an early age. As my
skills and experience grew so did my passion for the sport. My brother
was the first legitimate guide on the Toccoa River. I spent many days
on the Toccoa River year round that I now hold sacred. I’ve logged
enough hours on the Toccoa River to be the expert in the area.
To keep it short and sweet guiding keeps me sane. I thoroughly enjoy
my time on the water with my clients and I take deep satisfaction in
teaching the fundamentals of fly fishing. The Toccoa River has been my
home water now for over eight years.
My name is Eric Welch and I’ve been fishing the surrounding lakes of
North Georgia for the past 15 years. I view everyday on the lake as a
new adventure. This is why I like guiding, taking new people out
seeing if we can find and catch the fish. My favorite species of bass
is the smallmouth because their always unpredictable. I firmly believe
in making memories today and leaving fish for tomorrow.
